The project objective is to undertake the modernization and expansion of the existing production
facility, in particular:
Increase the production capacity; start a jewelry manufacturing line with an entire cycle of jewelry
production, from design and making a master die model up to pre-sales preparation of the finished
jewelry; improve quality and competitiveness of the produced jewelry in order to increase sales.
Increase the production output and sales of finished jewelry made from semi-finished products
supplied by OAO Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metal Plant, Italian Company Asterix and others, from 30 up
to 124 kilos per month.
Diversify the supply scheme of semi-finished products by increasing the output and sales of
jewelry made from semi-finished goods manufactured by Italian Company Asterix s.n.c. di Luca Serenie
C and St. Petersburg Jewelry Plant. This will increase the production profitability by reducing the
cost of incoming resources.
Establish the micro-casting area at the production, where the 4-5% of the rejected products will
be processed. That will reduce the cost of processing the rejects by 60%.
Summary
"Siberian Jewellery Plant" Ltd. started production in 2002. The enterprise producing its products
using ingots of customers and sells them through a net of retail outlets of the Trade House called
"Golden Chain" in Zheleznogorsk and Krasnoyarsk and through wholesale outlets of the "Golden Chain",
"Russian gold" Ltd. in Krasnoyarsk to Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnodar. However, the enterprise sees
the market potential and therefore wants to reach a full production cycle - on its own get raw
materials and sell its products, and also increase the capacity of the existing production.
For 2006 - 2010 in the framework of the project "Siberian Jewellery Plant" Ltd. is planning to
considerably expand the market for its production. As a result of the project implementation the number of
jobs will increase from 48 to 98, i.e. by 50 people, including 27 jobs for former MCK employees.
Cost
Total cost of the project is £298,091. The contribution of DTI is £151,032.
Duration
42 months - from 30 September 2006 till 30 March 2010.
