Purchase of the second production line of aluminum composite panels.
Objectives
The main project objective is to purchase the second production line of aluminum composite panels
(ACP) of "Alukom" with the thickness of 3 mm. It will help to improve the quality of manufactured
products and increase the sales volume. Thus, as a result of the project implementation "Alukom" will:
keep the market share it has among producers of ACP;
create additional 55 jobs, including at least 30 for former employees of MCK.
Summary
At present the company has one line for production of ACP with the thickness of 4-6 mm used for external
decoration of buildings. The marketing research showed that in 2006 the consumption of ACP with the
thickness of 4 mm would be 59,2%, 3 mm - 36,3% of the market. This proportion almost won't change till 2010.
Therefore, in the project it is proposed to purchase, deliver, assemble and commission the second
production line designed for production of high quality ACP with the thickness of 3 mm.
Also, in the framework of the project the heating systems in the production workshop will be
reconstructed and the warmed warehouse.
It is planned to purchase auxiliary equipment which will make it possible to render additional
services in ACP processing to customers:
Milling and engraving machine for cutting and milling of aluminum composite panels.
Machine for production of radial holders from aluminum composite panels.
Cost
Total cost of the project is £723,000. Contribution of the DTI amounts to £200,000.
Duration
18 months - from 31 March 2007 till 30 September 2008.
