Technology Audit for Seversk
Technology Audit for Seversk.

Title

Technology Audit for Seversk.

Objectives

  • Identify technologies which the Siberian Chemical Kombinat (SCK) and the Seversk State Technical Institute (SGTI) have developed which might have commercial potential.
  • Evaluate the present level of development of the technologies and assess their commercial prospects.

Summary

Technology Audit in Seversk
A technology audit for SCK and SGTI was undertaken and 11 projects were given in-depth assessments by CNCP team members in terms of the projects' technology, marketability and commercial potential. Ten of those projects are viewed as having sufficient technical and commercial potential to merit further investigation and an initial group of seven have received CNCP grants for marketing research and business plan development. A grant has also been provided to conduct a feasibility study on establishing a Business Development Agency in Seversk.

During the visit, an institutional appraisal workshop was held with SCK. This appraisal reviewed the activities of SCK's five main plants, the skills profiles of personnel likely to be made redundant in the coming years and an overview of SCK's commercial activities.

The DTI funded the technology audit for a total cost of £5,180.
