Manufacture of protective multi-layer polyethylene pipes for communication cables.
Objectives
Master full-scale production of multi-layer polyethylene pipes for
laying and upgrade of optical communication networks.
Start manufacturing pipes competitively for sale to end-users.
Reach sales volume of £120,000 - £150,000 per month.
Summary
CNCP support provided VES with the funds needed to procure
suitable equipment for the manufacture of the protective polyethylene pipes.
The new high-tech equipment will require a highly qualified team both for operation and
for maintenance. 20 of the 35 projected new jobs are designated for former RFNC-VNIITF employees.
Timely entry to the market is judged critical to the success of the project.
The present market is not yet saturated; there are niche opportunities both geographically
(in the Urals region) and in the range of products that VES proposes to manufacture.
Cost
Total cost of the project is £404,610. The DTI is contributing £191,000.
