Confectionary manufacture

Title

Ozersk Confectionary: manufacture of confectionary products in the Closed Nuclear City of Ozersk.

Objectives

  • Produce a new range of high-quality, competitive confectionary products and expand sales further in the Urals and Siberia.
  • Create 15 new jobs including 8 jobs for employees of the Mayak Chemical Combine.
  • Increase salaries and improve workplace conditions for company personnel.

Summary

Ozersk Confectionery is a company established and managed by former nuclear weapons engineer from Mayak. It produces high-quality confectionery products and sells them through retail outlets in Ozersk, and throughout the Urals and Siberia. The core product is cream confectionery (55%), with shortbread and flaky/puff confectionery items representing the remainder of their product mix. The DTI grant supports the purchase of new equipment and hiring of additional personnel to expand the company's product range and increase its sales capacity.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £50,000. The DTI's contribution is £35,000.
